Meet author Dr. Christopher Kerr, author of the new book ‘death is but a dream: Finding Hope and Meaning at Life’s End” Dr. Kerr is the Chief Medical Officer at Hospice Buffalo. His writing has been featured in the NY Times, Atlantic Monthly and other publications. Dr. Kerr will be in conversation with Christina Millletti, Associate Professor and Director of Creative Writing, English Department, Executive Director of the Humanities Institute, and co-curator of the Exhibit X Fiction Series, all at the University at Buffalo. She is the author of Choke Box: a Fem-Noir, winner of the Juniper Prize for fiction, and The Religious and Other Fictions.


Through interviews with over 1400 patients, Dr. Kerr reveals that pre-death dreams and visions are extraordinary occurrences that humanize the process. In the book he shares how his patients’ stories point to death not solely as the end of life, but as the final chapter of humanity’s transcendence.
