Sabu Adeyola is a bassist with a spiritual swing that transcends boundaries. Born in Buffalo and educated at UB, Sabu is best known for his work in the studio and in concert with pianist Ahmad Jamal. A protége of Charles Mingus, Sabu has appeared on recordings by Pat Metheny and Gary Burton, and has performed at venues around the world with artists such as Abbey Lincoln, Charlie Byrd, Donald Byrd, Dexter Gordon, “Big” Joe Turner, Mal Waldron, Grover Washington Jr., and Cassandra Wilson.
