Summertime in Larkinville will start with one of our own – Larkinville resident and Native Texan Jen Mulhern is Jenuine Cello, a seasoned performer, looper, improviser and songwriter who has taken her traditional classical training in a new and exciting direction. Equipped with her acoustic cello and voice, a loop pedal, a six-string electric cello/bass and a knack for glitchy beat-boxing, the self-described ‘one-woman cello army’ dedicates her looped compositions to improvised exploration rather than rehearsed replication.
