Join author Robert Brighton in Larkin Square on Thursday June 6th, for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at life, love, and true crime in Buffalo circa 1901.
Brighton, an authority on the Gilded Age—and a proud Buffalo native—has spent many years and innumerable hours researching what life was really like at the turn of the last century. A spellbinding speaker, the author will paint an indelible picture of Buffalo, Western New York, and Larkinville itself—while demolishing a few commonplace myths along the way. There will also be plenty of time for questions and answers along with a book signing.
Brighton’s novels, which are set primarily in and around Buffalo, have won multiple international awards. His writing has been compared to that of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, David Morrell, Cormac McCarthy, and Stephen King.
Brighton’s book THE BUFFALO BUTCHER is set close to the historic Larkin District. Brighton’s other novels are part of his Avenging Angel Detective Agency Mysteries – which can be read in any order. They are THE UNSEALING, A MURDER IN ASHWOOD, and his newest release, CURRENT OF DARKNESS.
Copies of Robert Brighton’s books, including his newest release, ‘Current of Darkness: Desire and Deceit in the Gilded Age’, will be available for purchase at the event courtesy of Talking Leaves. Bratts Hill in Larkin Square will be open for take out refreshments before and after the event.
