We Out Here

The public is invited to participate in a public art project during the Queen City Traveling Market on Saturday May 22nd, from 10 am – 2 pm. We Out Here: Healing is a process, not a destination: 2020 has been a complex wound and it requires patient, communal healing.

On Saturday, May 22nd, the public is invited to participate in a public art project presented during the Queen City Traveling Market in Larkin Square from 10 am – 2 pm

During the course of the Market, the participants will draw or write on a fabric flag using words, phrases, and images which people in our community have used to get through the trauma of 2020 to blend together in an act of physical and emotional healing on a collective level. This will serve as a monument to the ongoing process of healing, created by many small moments woven together.

Art supplies will be on site with assistance to create a flag. The flags will be assembled and publicly displayed as an overall piece of public art in future venues. Participation is free and open to the public.
