What’s New Harry? Larkin Square Author Series, February 8, 2017 at 5:30PM

The Larkin Square author series is delighted to welcome Paul Ranallo to the Larkin Square Author series to speak about his book, What’s New Harry?, on Wednesday February 8th, from 5:30 pm to 6:45pm.

The book focuses on the columns written by Paul’s father, Phil Ranallo who was a beloved sports writer for the Courier Express.  While his columns focused primarily on sports at the time, they also chronicled life in Buffalo.

Paul writes: “Consider this a history book on sports, but you will see that the real story is about the lives that were touched along the way by my father, Phil Ranallo, a sports columnist with the Buffalo Courier-Express. My father loved his job and the people he wrote about. Many of those people are no longer here, yet I wish they could see what has been done with his work. While that cannot be changed, the mark they left has been given new life.”

“Books that dig into local history are always fun in Larkinville,” says Leslie Zemsky, Larkin Square Director of Fun, “this book may even chronicle some of the folks that lived and worked in the neighborhood and Old First Ward, South Buffalo and the East Side.

Talking Leaves will have copies of What’s New Harry? available for purchase and signing.  Beer, wine and light fare offered as well. The talk is free and open to the public thanks to the support from presenting sponsor Key Bank and sponsor Independent Health.
